Problem Statement picked Track 1: Reinvent Everyday Computing
We are addressing the challenge of improving everyday productivity, knowledge management, and information retrieval by making it easier for users to capture, organize, and rediscover information from their digital activity.
Our solution, Rewind, focuses on transforming fragmented browsing and digital context into a searchable, context-aware knowledge layer, helping users quickly find and recall information they have previously encountered.
Why this problem? We've all had that moment — you're three tabs deep into something else, and suddenly you go, "wait, I saw something about this last week... where was that?" And then you're scrolling through browser history like it's an archaeological dig, squinting at page titles that mean nothing out of context, trying to remember if it was Tuesday or Wednesday when you saw that one repo, that one article, that one thing.
It's a strange kind of loss. You didn't lose a file. You lost a thought — something you engaged with, understood, maybe even planned to come back to. And the tools we use every day to browse the internet were never designed to help us remember it. Bookmarks ask you to decide, in the moment, that something will matter later — but you rarely know that in the moment. Browser history remembers everything but understands nothing, so it's technically all there and practically useless.
That gap — between what we actually experience online and what we can actually get back — felt like the real problem worth solving. Not "how do we help people save more stuff," but "how do we stop making people responsible for remembering their own digital life." We wanted to build something that quietly pays attention on your behalf, the way a good assistant would, so that recalling something is as easy as just... asking for it, in your own words.
That's where Rewind came from — not a fascination with browser extensions or vector databases, but the very ordinary, very universal feeling of I know I saw this somewhere.
